#WearingOrange for Gun Violence Awareness

On any given day in San Francisco, you’ll see fans proudly wearing orange to support our local World Series Champions. But today is different. Wearing orange today means so much more…

Today, June 2nd, is the first-annual National Gun Violence Awareness Day and For Goodness Sake is taking the pledge to “Wear Orange” – a color that symbolizes the value of human life. There are 88 Americans whose lives are cut short by gun violence EVERY DAY and by wearing orange we are honoring those lives, while pledging to do what we can to keep guns out of the wrong hands and be responsible gun owners.

Over 140 organizations, cultural influencers and elected officials have come together to raise awareness and promote anti-violence. The Caliber Foundation is one of the many Wear Orange advocates, offering support to victims, families and communities that have been devastated by illegal gun violence. Our friends at Jewelry for a Cause partnered with the Caliber Foundation to create the Caliber Collection, helping cities across the country buyback illegal guns.

Each piece in the Caliber Collection is made from bullet casings and engraved with the serial numbers of the illegal guns that were reclaimed and taken off our cities’ streets. The jewelry symbolizes a gun’s transformation from a destructive weapon into a powerful symbol of renewal and no two pieces are exactly alike. For Goodness Sake is proud to support the Caliber Foundation every day through the sale of selected pieces from the San Francisco Caliber Collection at www.forgoodsake.org. The recycled gunmetal for this collection was brought to Jewelry for a Cause after a local Bay Area police department took 291 illegal guns off the streets through a gun-buyback program, helping make our community a safer place.

To show our support for the Wear Orange campaign and amplify efforts to reduce gun violence, For Goodness Sake is giving away a Reclaimed Gunmetal Bangle and Reclaimed Gunmetal Cufflinks created by Jewelry for a Cause. To enter for a chance to win, sign up for our newsletter today at http://bit.ly/1FQrUmw and become a part of our give back community. Every person deserves to live a life free from gun violence and together we can make our country safer. We’re #WearingOrange today, are you?

For Goodness Sake Supports MedShare

For Goodness Sake Supports MedShare
Impacting the Health and Quality of Life of People Around the World

On May 4th, For Goodness Sake joined fellow change makers from Google, John Muir Health, Stanford Health Care and Sutter Health to support MedShare at their annual Talk & Taste event. The event, held at the Google Impact Hub, honored the works of 2011 Nobel Peace Laureate Madame Leymah Gbowee and renown surgeon Dr. Assad Hassoun. We were thrilled to be a part of such an extraordinary gathering to help positively impact the quality of life and health of others.

Madame Gbowee connected with the audience on a very human level – her insights on how each community must not only accept and seek aid, but also, be the leaders of their own change was an inspirational message that resonated deeply with the For Goodness Sake team.

In light of the devastating earthquake and aftermath in Nepal, the event could not have been timelier.  We collectively raised funds to support MedShare’s efforts to collect and donate medical supplies to help the tens of thousands affected.

MedShare’s cause exemplifies what we can all accomplish by coming together through community engagement and collaboration.  Being surrounded by inspiring thought leaders heightened the For Goodness Sake team’s appreciation for the positive impact we can make, and we are excited to continue to strive to find new ways for everyone to give back every day.

Live Big. Love Hard. Give Back.

For Goodness Sake at Heroes & Hearts

For Goodness Sake will take part in the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation’s Heroes & Hearts luncheon and Hearts After Dark to raise much-needed funds for the Foundation. On February 12, we will gather at AT&T Park to honor local heroes, support the Foundation and shop with purpose.

As a long time supporter and champion of the Foundation, I am pleased to have the Foundation as one of our inaugural cause partners.  With this partnership, we are working together to support the San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center so that they can continue their important work.

At this year’s events, the For Goodness Sake Mobile Gallery will be on location so that guests can shop from our curated collection.  100% of net proceeds of products purchased at the mobile gallery will be donated to the Foundation. We are also donating 25% of net proceeds for purchases made online.

At For Goodness Sake we are empowering individuals to become change makers in their own community.

We hope to see you at this year’s Heroes and Hearts events.

Thank you for your support.  Live Big.  Love Hard.  Give Back.
